Owned by a family with farm roots, Winfield Street Italian Deli is proud to offer seasonal fare from some of our local Connecticut farms whenever possible.
Breno and Jeanette Donatti are honored to uphold East Norwalk's infamous Winfield Street Deli offering their own specialty of authentic Italian foods as well as keeping the Deli's traditional American recipes. They chose 69 Winfield Street because of its historic place in the community and for the pride it has upheld over the years to serving its closely knit neighborhood.
Breno Donatti is the son of an Italian father and a Brazilian-Portuguese mother. He grew up learning good old Northern Italian recipes from his grandmother and has always been fascinated with the freshness and simplicity of the Italian cuisine. With his strong restaurant background in pizzerias and fine dining establishments in the Fairfield County areas of Greenwich, Byram, Stamford, Norwalk and Wilton, Breno created Winfield Street Italian Deli to recreate some of the dishes he learned in his career as well as his childhood and serve dishes that are popular and innovative among the many Italian Americans here in Connecticut. Breno's wife, Jeanette Vecchione-Donatti (www.jeanettevecchione.com), is an Italian American from Long Island and a world touring Opera Singer. She graduated The Juilliard School on full scholarship and has since lived and worked mostly in Europe as a soloist in some of the world's leading Opera Houses. Making their home in Connecticut, they recently invited a new addition to their family: their baby boy, Valentino Filipe Donatti.
Winfield Street Italian Deli has been serving the Norwalk community dating back to 1925 when the Buono family, who still own the building, first opened an Italian Deli and Market. The neighborhood is quaint and inviting, and we hope to be an active part of everyone's daily lives serving fresh food and home cooking while treating everyone like our own family. With a large selection of high quality cold cuts, salads, hot foods, and baked goods, we love good old fashioned cooking and love to share it with our guests. Breno, who believes strongly in his family farm roots, is proud to offer at Winfield Street Italian Deli, seasonal fare from some of our local Connecticut farms whenever possible.
Breno Donatti took over Winfield's Deli in September 2015, opened Winfield Street Coffee in February 2016, and took over Art's Delicatessen in Westport in November 2016. The company also runs two corporate food concessions in a Senior Facility and a Country Club.
